Mercury rules clothes that are immaculate and clean.

By wearing green, we can benefit from the positive characteristics of Mercury. Any shade of green is appropriate on a Wednesday, but bright emerald greens or the green of a blade of grass is ideal. Mercury represents the earth element, so team your outfit with earth tones and neutrals.

Mercury tends to take on the characteristics of other planets, intense colours like reds and oranges are best avoided as well as very dark colours like black or navy. This being said, black can be useful when in interviews or a situation where you do not want to lay all of your cards on the table, as it represents Saturn. Black and green make a striking combination and might be the right outfit choice for positions of authority where communication is paramount.

Always make sure your clothes are clean on Wednesdays never throw in the jeans you were wearing yesterday, even if you are teaming it with a green shirt or perfectly steamed tee! In fact, it is recommended to wash any new clothes before wearing them on a Wednesday.

The main gemstone for Mercury is emerald set in gold and worn on the little finger. Ideally, an astrologer will look at your chart and suggest the size that you need. Alternatively, peridot jade, green tourmaline or green zircon can be worn on the little finger of the right hand and or around the neck as a pendant.

Triangles are the shape of Mercury. Jewellery in this shape is a fitting choice. If you love print and pattern, go for green leafy prints or a geometric triangle or jacquard on a Wednesday.
